About This Site

Over the years, we have experienced the frustration of students who are blind and struggling to learn braille in the midst of people who do not know braille. This website is intended to provide a background in the early development of braille and a gentle introduction to the braille code for sighted learners.

We often receive
requests from students seeking information about Louis Braille and the braille method of reading and writing for their school reports. This website is to support their studies and answer their questions.

The information on this site may be freely used for school children's reports and programs about Louis Braille and the braille system. Please acknowledge the Louis Braille Online Resource website as a resource.

Material that is to be commercially printed and distributed requires permission, as does any use of the charcoal portrait of Louis Braille, online or in print.

All material on this website is protected by copyright.
